Not a travel show, it's a documentary on the state of the prison system

I've just finished watching this documentary and then read a number of the comments esp from Canon City residents... Aren't they missing the point? This wasn't a travel show, it was an expose examining some very real issues that exist within the prison system.

Prisoners don't have a voice, they can't hire lobbyists, publicists, etc. Yeah they did something wrong but how can they ever learn to do something right if the prison system doesn't seek to rehabilitate them and give them choices that aren't related to crime.

Documentaries like this give people who don't have voices a chance to be heard. It sure sounds to me that a public dialogue about the state of the US prison system is long overdue. If there was nothing to hide why weren't these cameras allowed inside? Why couldn't the prisoners be interviewed? Why weren't the tough questions put to the powers that run these prisons? Too many unanswered questions, too many secrets, too little justice. Justice teaches justice.
