    Florence (Colorado) — Tom Piltingsrud is a figure of town life, always available, always affable. His wife is an antiques dealer on Main Street. He's just founded the local Rotary Club. He takes care of everything at city hall in Florence (3,800 souls). His son served in Afghanistan. Tom spent 21 years in the US Army. He was posted to Germany, Norway and Korea. Now there's only one place in his heart: Florence.
