    Cañon City (Colorado) — You notice two things on the the restaurant's business card - a cherry cake with lots of cherries and lots of cream, and the slogan We serve food fast, we don't serve fast food. As the days passed, the Good Thyme became one of our canteens, at 412 Main Street, Cañon City. Christian was there, every time. One helluva rush, one helluva smile. His elder daughter waited on, his younger daughter folded serviettes. And he wore an improbable collection of biker T-shirts. On day he started telling us about his past as a prison warden, when he confused prison life and his own life, and spoke to his daughters as if they were prisoners.
