Inmate labour: a means of rehabilitating prisoners or a way of exploiting vulnerable labour? Over the last thirty years, the state of Colorado has made an industry out of inmate labour. Its subsidiary, Colorado Correctional Industries, announced profits of $16.5 million for 2006. French inmates work on contracts that put short-term contracts on the outside in the shade.
